Objectives
The Specific Objectives Of FERT Include:
- To engage in social and economic research that would aid the understanding of development and underdevelopment in Nigeria and Africa;
- To promote the development of technical and entrepreneurial skills and enhance economic empowerment in Nigeria and Africa in general;
- To provide a link between researchers in academia and policy-makers in government, international institutions and other non-governmental organizations through networking in thematic and non-thematic research as well as through publications;
- To engage in research, capacity building and training which will emancipate the vulnerable groups in Nigeria and Africa;
- To provide training to policy-makers at all levels, academia, the private sector and other groups through workshops, seminars and symposia; and
- To make available recommendations derived from research to appropriate functionaries of government, domestic and international research organizations.
